Louisville, Ky. (February 14, 2024) - The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center will host its largest indoor track meet in venue history when the KTCCCA President's Day Weekend Invite returns this Saturday and Sunday. Approximately 3,000 athletes representing 200 teams from seven states are registered to compete in the 2-day event. This weekend also features the NAIA's Mid-South Conference Championship on Friday, February 16 and JCPS Middle School Monday's on Monday, February 19. 

With local athletes trying to qualify for the inaugural KHSAA Indoor State Championship that is just over two weeks away, it is no surprise that teams are lining up to compete in the KTCCCA President's Day Weekend event. Saturday's high school meet was in such high demand that it reached capacity several weeks early and a second day of high school action was added on Sunday, February 18. Sunday was originally slated to host elementary and middle school athletes only. 

"We are excited that the tremendous growth of our President's Day indoor track meet continues," said KTCCCA President Tim King. "We are at close to 3,000 registered athletes. This will be the largest weekend event for the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. The KTCCCA continues to give great opportunities to athletes from all over the state and country. The KTCCCA staff and officials are a huge reason that indoor track continues to grow."

The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center will also be hosting some of the top NAIA runners from the region when the Mid-South Conference returns Friday, February 16 to host their indoor championship event. The region features the NAIA's current top ranked men's team, University of the Cumberlands, in addition to a number of other top ranked athletes. 

"The Mid-South Conference is very excited to host our indoor conference championship once again at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville," said NAIA Mid-South Conference Commissioner Eric Leach. "The Mid-South has long standing tradition of excellence in track and field and from last years event it produced several National Champions and All-Americans in the NAIA. We’re looking forward to a great competition featuring top athletes and are excited to see the continued growth of the sport."
