LOUISVILLE, KY — August 1, 2025 — Chicago’s Jerk Tacos, a vibrant and
flavorful presence in the Louisville food scene, is thrilled to announce the grand
opening of its new location inside the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning
Center.
Founded by Aaron Williams, Chicago’s Jerk Tacos has quickly become
celebrated for its authentic Caribbean flavors, inventive menu, and unmistakable
Chicago flair. This new venue will not only offer fans and food lovers the chance
to savor signature jerk dishes but will also contribute to the community with a
welcoming, energetic atmosphere.
“We're excited to bring a taste of Chicago’s South Side to Louisville’s West
End,” said Aaron Williams, Owner of Chicago’s Jerk Tacos. “This location means
so much to us—not just for our business, but for the wonderful community that
has embraced us from day one.”
“It’s a proud day for West Louisville and small businesses. We know the work
we do supporting small businesses can make a big impact in the city, and Aaron
is living proof. It takes more than just hard work and determination, but through
connections with the League’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Reparative
Economics Fund, we can bridge funding gaps and provide access to capital to
make deals like this possible.” Cynthia Brown, Director of the Center for
Entrepreneurship at the Louisville Urban League.
In addition to the grand opening celebration, Chicago’s Jerk Tacos is proud to
announce its partnership with the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center,
where it will serve as the official concessionaire and caterer. Austin Harris, CFO
of Chicago’s Jerk Tacos and General Manager of Chicago’s Catering Experience,
reflected on this monumental collaboration: “I’ve always believed you should
never say no until you fully understand what you’re saying no to. When I joined
this team, it felt like iron sharpening iron. It’s an honor to help elevate something
so powerful, and the best is absolutely still ahead!”
This impactful partnership exemplifies how small businesses can successfully
compete with larger corporations. Sadiqa Reynolds, Founder and President of
the Louisville Urban League Sports and Learning Complex, shared, “This facility
embodies a vision that supports the community and revitalizes a part of town
often overlooked. Fostering this partnership is the epitome of what this facility
was built for. Since its inception nearly five years ago, it has become home to
Sow Journey Custom Clothing and now Chicago’s Jerk Tacos, with more
partnerships on the horizon. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who helped
bring this vision to life, and we eagerly anticipate what’s in store.”
